Florida firefighters, police officers rescue cow stuck in water-filled hole

Cow charges at rescuers in Port St. Lucie

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. – Firefighters and police officers rescued a cow that was stuck in a water-filled hole Wednesday in Port St. Lucie.

The St. Lucie County Fire District received a call from police for assistance with a cow that was stuck in an 8-foot drainage hole.

It took two police officers, five firefighters and the help of several 2-foot-by-4-foot wooden planks to free the cow, who was lying on her side.

Once free, the cow stood on all four legs and gave her rescuers a little "thank you" charge.

"Watch out. Watch out. Watch out," one of the firefighters can be heard yelling to his colleagues in a video posted on the St. Lucie County Fire District's Facebook page.

It wasn't known how the cow got stuck in the hole.
