Miami-Dade Fire Rescue uses Jaws of Life to free 2 people trapped in wreckage

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue used the Jaws of Life to rescue two people who were trapped in this car after it crashed into a business.

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Two people had to be rescued from a car that crashed into a building late Monday night in northwest Miami-Dade County.

Three people were in the car when it crashed into the ParadiseMattresses.com building near Northwest 94th Street and Northwest 22nd Avenue shortly before 11 p.m., Miami-Dade Fire Rescue spokeswoman Erika Benitez said.

Rescuers used the Jaws of Life to free two people who were trapped in the wreckage. Benitez said one of the victims was taken to a nearby hospital.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
