MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Two people were pulled from a canal Tuesday in Miami Gardens after they fell off a personal watercraft, Miami Gardens police said.
The crash took place in the 2000 block of State Road 7.
"I feel bad and heartbroken," witness Junior Spice said.
Witnesses said two people were on the personal watercraft in the Snake Creek Canal when the incident took place.
One of the victims was able to reach the bank, while the other was pulled from the water and taken to an area hospital.
"They actually had somebody on the stretcher and took them up to where the ambulances were," witness Andrew Grant said.
Spice and other residents said that they often see people on personal watercrafts in the canal.
"I always be seeing them speeding out here and it be looking nice, but when an accident comes like this is when the problems come," Spice said.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission has taken over the investigation.
