According to an arrest report, the victim met Zachariah Brown, 19, and four females while walking along Ocean Drive.

The victim told police that one of the females suddenly attacked him and robbed him of his chain.

He said he ran into a hotel and Brown followed him inside, beating him and snatching another chain from his neck.

Police said a witness recorded the attack inside the hotel lobby.

Robbery detectives identified Brown in the video because he has been arrested before, the report said.

Police said Brown confessed to his involvement in the robbery.

According to the Miami Herald, Brown signed in November with St. John's University and was arrested multiple times.

The Miami Herald reported that Brown was arrested in January by Hollywood police on charges of petit theft and driving with a suspended license and an expired tag.

He was also accused in May 2016 of credit card fraud and robbery in Miami.

ESPN reported that Brown was the No. 35 overall prospect in the nation and had transferred schools multiple times in recent years. He most recently attended Calusa Prep School, in Kendall.
