Man in skull mask tries to rob Stop & Shop store in Miami

Clerk tells man armed with knife that he doesn't have money, police say

MIAMI – A man who was wearing a skull mask to hide his identity tried to rob a Stop & Shop store last month in Miami, authorities said.

The attempted robbery was reported shortly after 12:30 a.m. May 10 at the Stop & Shop at
4777 W. Flagler St.

Detectives said the man entered the store and pulled a knife on an employee and a customer.

Police said he demanded money from the clerk, who was behind the cash register.

The clerk told the man that he didn't have any money.

Police said the would-be thief walked backward and left the store empty-handed.
