Stolen checks, counterfeit money found in vehicle, troopers say

COLUMBIA COUNTY, Fla. – Twin brothers from Boca Raton were arrested Tuesday by Florida Highway Patrol troopers after they were pulled over in a stolen vehicle in Columbia County, authorities said.

According to an FHP report, a trooper spotted the stolen 2016 Mazda at the Busy Bee gas station on U.S. Highway 41, just north of Interstate 10.

Troopers said the vehicle had been reported stolen May 30 in Fort Lauderdale.

According to a news release, the trooper searched the vehicle after arresting the brothers, Alain Pierre and Alex Pierre, both 26, and found 188 stolen checks, two of which were in the amount of $5,007, stolen credit cards, 165 stolen identities, drug paraphernalia, burglary tools and counterfeit money in the amount of $230.

Troopers said the brothers were on felony probation when they were arrested.

They were taken to the Columbia County Jail on multiple charges.
