BARTOW, Fla. – A pilot was seriously injured Sunday when his small plane crashed into an SUV parked outside a Florida church.
Polk County Fire Rescue spokesman Kevin Watler said the plane went down during Sunday service at the Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Bartow.

Watler said two registered nurses who were attending church rushed out to assist the injured pilot until paramedics arrived.
The pilot was airlifted to Lakeland Regional Health.
Watler said six vehicles and a utility pole were damaged in the crash.
The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the crash.
