Roger Wittenberns, 61, was arrested in connection with a Delray Beach crash last September that killed an 82-year-old Uber driver.

DELRAY BEACH, Fla. ā€“ A man who was driving a Lamborghini that was involved in a crash that killed an 82-year-old Uber driver last year in Delray Beach has been arrested.

Roger Wittenberns, 61, was booked into the main Palm Beach County jail Monday night. He faces charges of driving under the influence and negligent manslaughter.

J. Gerald Smith was killed last September when Wittenberns' Lamborghini slammed into Smith's Buick Enclave at Northeast Sixth Avenue and Northeast First Street, Delray Beach police said.

Police said Wittenberns' girlfriend, Patty Ann McQuiggin, had spent the afternoon eating and drinking with him before they left in separate cars -- Wittenberns in his yellow Lamborghini and McQuiggin in her Porsche.

Wittenberns was taken to Delray Medical Center to be treated for his injuries.

Police said Smith's wife had dinner waiting for him, but he never made it home.
