Surveillance video shows woman using stolen credit card in Broward County

DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. – A South Florida woman was attending an alcoholics anonymous meeting earlier this month in Boca Raton when she believes her wallet was stolen, authorities said.

The Broward Sheriff's Office said the victim was at the meeting June 9 when she took out her wallet to make a donation.

The victim told deputies that she placed her billfold back in her purse and then put her bag on her chair. She believes her wallet was then stolen from her purse.

The woman returned home and realized that her wallet was missing and one of her credit cards was used to purchase more than $800 worth of gift cards at a Target store at 1200 S. Federal Highway in Deerfield Beach.

Authorities said surveillance video shows a woman also charging nearly $900 on the victim's second credit card at the same store.

Anyone with information about the thief's identity is asked to call Detective Dimos Charoudis at 954-480-5829 or Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS. A reward of up to $3,000 is offered for information that leads to an arrest.
