Elephant takes morning stroll through Wisconsin neighborhood

Circus World trainer escorted animal back

BARABOO, Wis. – A Circus World elephant got loose Friday morning and decided to take a stroll through a Baraboo, Wisconsin, neighborhood, WISC-TV reports.

Sauk County officials said the elephant wandered around the neighborhood before law enforcement got in touch with the trainer.


Jaime Lynn posted several photos on Facebook and said in a post, "She just strolled thru (sic) yards and decided to eat the leaves from the neighbors (sic) trees and plants."

WISC reports a Circus World trainer caught up with the elephant and safely escorted it back.


Circus World is a museum owned by the State Historical Society of Wisconsin devoted to circus-related history.  The museum features summer performances, tours and demonstrations.
