Her neighbor told Deputy Michelle Swilley that she was playing music outside as she did yard work. She said she was taking a break in a hammock under her house when she saw Resnick staring and yelling at her.

The woman said she couldn't hear what Resnick was saying, but she saw Resnick "raise something up to her eye that was long and black," Monroe County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Becky Herrin said.

Once she realized that Resnick was aiming a long gun with a scope on it, the woman hid behind a concrete pillar and then ran into her house, Herrin said. The woman's father called 911.

Swilley arrived and recovered the rifle, which turned out to be a pellet gun, from Resnick.
