Woman on bike seriously injured in hit-and-run near Chick-fil-A in Sunrise, police say

Victim is waitress at area restaurant

SUNRISE, Fla. – A woman was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash over weekend while riding her bike home from work, Sunrise police said.

An unknown person called police just after midnight Saturday to report that a woman was lying in the swale in front of a Chick-fil-A in the 12600 block of Sunrise Boulevard, police said.

The woman suffered severe life-threatening injuries.

Her bicycle, a white Raleigh mountain bike, had damage to its rear rim and tire.

Police said that based on the damage to the bike, the vehicle that hit her should have damage to its front bumper area.

The victim was wearing black shoes, black pants and a black shirt at the time of the crash, police said.
