MIAMI – A fire was reported Monday afternoon at a vapor cigarette store in downtown Miami.

Miami Fire Rescue Capt. Ignatius Carroll said firefighters arrived to the Vapor Life Electronic Cigarette store at 27 SE First Ave. just before 2 p.m.

Carroll said an employee told authorities that she heard the smoke alarm ringing and discovered the fire on the second-floor lounge.

The woman attempted to extinguish the flames with two fire extinguishers, but the fire grew out of control, Carroll said.

Carroll said firefighters extinguished the fire in about 20 minutes.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Carroll said adjacent businesses were not affected by the fire.
