DANIA BEACH, Fla. – A South Florida apartment manager is accused of stealing $4,000 from his 84-year-old tenant.
Derek Ragoonath was the manager of the Hollywood Parks North apartments when he stole from the woman on numerous occasions, Broward Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Joy Oglesby said.

The woman signed a blank check for her $1,125 rent in March and asked Ragoonath to fill out the rest. Instead, he wrote a check for $2,000, made it out to "cash" and pocketed $875, Oglesby said.
Ragoonath stole from the woman three more times, Oglesby said, taking $875 from her in May and $1,125 from her in June and again in July.
Detectives believe Ragoonath may have skimmed money from other tenants.
Ragoonath was arrested Tuesday and booked into the main Broward County jail.
Anyone who believes he or she has been victimized by Ragoonath is asked to call the BSO at 954-926-2400 or Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
