DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. – A man and a woman died Sunday morning in a fire at a residence in a mobile home park community for people ages 55 and older in Deerfield Beach, firefighters said.

The fire broke out at about 2:40 a.m. at the Tidewater Estates near Valencia Drive, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office.

"Big and up through the roof," resident Robert Hagar said about the fire. "It was well engulfed."

Firefighters said they discovered the bodies when they surveyed the damage inside the home.

The victims have not been identified but residents say the two people who lived in the home were a 90-year-old woman and a 66-year-old man.
