Detectives search for Dominic Portelli, who failed to register new address

Monroe County Sheriff's Office detectives are searching for Dominic Portelli, who hasn't registered a new address as required by law.

KEY WEST, Fla. – Detectives in the Florida Keys are searching for a sex offender who absconded from supervision just before Hurricane Irma.

Monroe County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Becky Herrin said Dominic Portelli disappeared shortly before the hurricane made landfall Sept. 10 in the Keys.

Herrin said Portelli's last known address was on Grassy Key. She said he no longer lives there and hasn't registered a new address as required by law.

A warrant for his arrest has been issued as a result of his failure to register.

Anyone with information about Portelli's location is asked to call the Monroe County Sheriff's Office at 305-289-2410 or Crime Stoppers of the Florida Keys at 800-346-TIPS.
