Man loses Facebook bet with police, turns himself in with doughnuts

Man wanted to reward police for 'inconvenience'

A Michigan man who agreed to turn himself in to jail for probation violations if police could get 1,000 shares on a Facebook post did so Tuesday after the challenge was easily met.

According to The Associated Press, Michael Zaydel, 21, showed up to the suburban Detroit station with a dozen doughnuts and a bagel, and was arrested upon his arrival. Zaydel says he brought the doughnuts and a bagel because "cops like doughnuts," and he wanted to reward them for any inconvenience.

Zaydel was sentenced to 39 days in jail.
