MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Police are searching for a suspected serial burglar in a southwest Miami-Dade County neighborhood.
"This is an individual that truly doesn't care for anyone's well-being, and I think he deserves to be caught and brought to justice," home burglary victim Danny Montesinos told Local 10 News on Monday.
Montesinos said the break-in happened last Thursday while he was picking up his son from a family member's home. That's when he got an alert on his cellphone from his home's motion-activated Ring doorbell camera.
"Then shortly after that, I get another alert from my alarm app," Montesinos said.
Montesinos raced home, but the burglar was already gone when he got there.
What the burglar didn't know is that, from the moment he knocked on the door, he was being recorded, and now police believe he may be responsible for several other burglaries in the area.
Detectives are also reviewing surveillance showing a suspicious man jumping out of a silver BMW only a couple of blocks from Montesinos's home.
