DAVIE, Fla. – A shooting was reported Wednesday afternoon at a CVS in Davie, authorities said.
Davie police said the shooting happened just before 1 p.m. at the CVS on Griffin Road and University Drive.
"As soon as shots rang out, most of the people did as what anyone would do, and that's sought shelter to protect themselves," Davie police Maj. Dale Engle said.
When officers arrived they encountered the suspect leaving the store and detained him, authorities said.
"He's being questioned, and usually in CVS there's great video. We'll take a look at that to determine what happened and go from there," Engle said.
Authorities said one person was shot inside the store and was taken as a trauma alert to Memorial Regional Hospital.
Police said neither the suspect nor the shooting victim are employed by CVS.
Customers and employees were interviewed by detectives one-on-one, and authorities said most gave the same story that some kind of feud between two men led up to the shooting.
The suspect's and victim's identities were not immediately released.
