Woman suffers serious head injury during hit-and-run in Target parking lot

Police officers were searching for a woman suspected of being involved in a hit-and-run crash that left a woman injured in Sunrise Wednesday.

SUNRISE, Fla. – Police officers in Sunrise were searching for a woman believed to be involved in a hit-and-run crash Wednesday at the Sawgrass Mills mall. 

Witnesses told police officers the driver struck a 20-year-old woman in the the parking lot of Target. She suffered a severe head injury and was taken to Broward Health Medical Center.

Detective Evan Huggard believes the woman, who is an employee of the Carter's store, might have been trying to stop the driver from leaving the parking lot.
