Another arrest made in death of man found in burning car in Bicentennial Park

Johntavis McCoe, 26, second suspect linked to death of Darren Butler

NORTH LAUDERDALE, Fla. – A second arrest has been made in connection with the death of a man who was found inside a burning car in a North Lauderdale park.

Broward Sheriff's Office detectives arrested Johntavis McCoe on Tuesday in Miami. He faces a charge of first-degree murder in the death of Darren Butler.

Butler's body was found Nov. 14 after firefighters extinguished the flames of the burning car at Bicentennial Park.

Broward Sheriff's Office deputies were called to a vehicle fire at Bicentennial Park in North Lauderdale about 5 a.m. Tuesday.

Rougiena Derviere, 18, was arrested earlier this week for her alleged involvement.

Deputies haven't said how Butler died.

McCoe was being held without bond in the main Broward County jail.
