Fire at Miami apartment building displaces four families

MIAMI – A fire at an apartment building in Miami displaced four families Saturday, officials said.

Miami Fire-Rescue Capt. Ignatius Carroll said the blaze started about 1:30 p.m. inside one of the units at Northwest 12th Street and First Place in the city's Overtown section.

No one was hurt in the fire, Carroll said.

Firefighters brought the fire under control in about 10 minutes, but four units were damaged in the blaze.

The Red Cross was at the building after the fire, helping the displaced families, he said.

Carroll said firefighters are still investigating the cause of the blaze.
