Men accused of stealing packages from outside South Florida homes

Suspects targeted homes in Palm Beach, Broward counties, authorities say

BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. – Two men from Royal Palm were arrested Tuesday after stealing multiple packages from homes throughout South Florida, authorities said.

According to an arrest report, the Broward Sheriff's Office Burglary Apprehension Team was asked to assist the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office, Boca Raton Police Department and the Fort Lauderdale Police Department with a surveillance operation targeting Curtis Harris III, 32, and Demetrius Harris, 27.

Deputies said the suspects were driving up and down neighborhoods in a black 2018 Infiniti Q50 and stopping at multiple homes to steal packages.

Most of the crimes committed in Broward County were captured on surveillance video, authorities said.

Various items that were stolen included an Apple TV, English pies, a Peanuts Snow Globe, clothes, cash and holiday roast coffee.

According to the arrest report, deputies followed the suspects until they pulled into the Palm Village townhouse development in Deerfield Beach, at which point they got out of the car and walked over to the trunk of the car, where the packages were stored.

Once the trunk was open, detectives walked over to the suspects and ordered them to the ground, the report stated.

Both of the suspects were arrested on charges of burglary and grand theft.
