Man fatally stabbed in Miami Beach apartment, police say

Killer fled scene in unknown direction

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – A man was fatally stabbed Thursday morning inside an apartment in Miami Beach, authorities said.

The stabbing was reported shortly before 7:30 a.m. at an apartment at 1241 14th St.

Miami Beach police spokesman Ernesto Rodriguez said officers arrived to the apartment and found the body of a man with an apparent stab wound.

Rodriguez said the male killer fled the scene in an unknown direction.

Police officers were seen speaking with a man outside the building, but it's unclear whether he witnessed anything or was in any way connected to the crime.

Tourists who were walking by told Local 10 News reporter Sanela Sabovic that they were a little startled by the police presence, but weren't too surprised.

"We know Miami is not the securest place, and we've been here for the fourth time," a man from Germany said. "Each year we are here, we are a little bit involved in a crime scene."

Anyone with information about the stabbing is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 35-471-TIPS.
