Victim taken to Broward Health Medical Center

LAUDERDALE LAKES, Fla. ā€“ A woman was critically injured in an early-morning shooting Thursday at a club in Lauderdale Lakes.

Broward Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Joy Oglesby said deputies were called to a shooting at South Rock Lounge Bar & Grill in the 3600 block of North State Road 7Ā shortly after 3:30 a.m.

Authorities said the woman had been inside the bar earlier, but was she was shot outside the bar after some sort of commotion broke out and shots were fired.

"Basically, we was all having a good time inside and then I saw security," one witness, Nate Johnson, said.Ā "That's when I realized something was wrong."Ā

Deputies held a number of people who were inside the bar for hours, questioning people about whatĀ they heard or saw.Ā Ā

"They said a stray bullet hit her in the head," Johnson said. "I don't know if they said it was foul play, or it was attempted murder, or I don't know if it was just shooting at each other. I don't know what happened. All I know is that she was the victim in this case, and I hope that she made it and I hope she's still alive."

Oglesby said the woman was taken to Broward Health Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

"Prayers to her family, man," Johnson said. "It's more serious than that to be a victim of gun violence for no reason is -- it's just enough's enough. Everybody's just got to chill and have a good time."

No arrests have been made.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.Ā
