Detectives warn of suspected rapist wanted for crimes in Miami's Little Haiti

Surveillance video shows man sought in sexual assault, kidnapping

MIAMI – Police are searching for an armed rapist who is targeting women at their homes in Miami's Little Haiti.

Hours after the crimes, Miami police detectives released surveillance video of a man who is being sought in two Thursday morning attacks.

A woman was leaving her home about 7 a.m. when a man approached and attempted to push her back inside, but she was able to get away, police said.

About an hour later, police said, the man broke into a home in the same neighborhood to rape another woman.

The victim's neighbor was able to provide detectives with surveillance video of the man leaving the area on a bicycle.

Neighbors said they are now constantly looking over their shoulders.

"You have your kids and I am a woman. Sometimes I'm home alone, so it definitely makes me feel unsafe," Vanessa Marc said. "So hopefully, pray to God, they catch him."

Police passed out fliers Friday throughout the area in hopes that someone recognized the man.

Officers were asking anyone with information about the man or other attacks to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
