Man found shot to death in Lauderhill apartment hallway

Police ask for public's help finding Dannie Herrington's killer

LAUDERHILL, Fla. – A 30-year-old man was found shot to death Thursday night in the hallway of an apartment complex, police said.

The shooting took place about 8 p.m. at the Cypress Grove Apartment Homes in the 4300 block of Norrthwest 19th Street.

Lauderhill police Lt. Mike Santiago said the victim had been shot several times in the hallway of the third floor of an apartment building.

"I'm scared," resident Shevin Dudley told Local 10 News. "I'm disabled and I'm alone, so it makes me think I need to move."

The victim was later identified as Dannie Herrington.

Dannie Herrington was fatally shot in the hallway outside the door of his apartment in Lauderhill.

There is no suspect or motive for the shooting, but Santiago said evidence at the scene suggests there was a struggle.

Detectives are asking for the public's help. Anyone with information is asked to call Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
