Pedestrian seriously hurt in hit-and-run crash in northwest Miami-Dade

Police arrest 72-year-old man identified as driver

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A 72-year-old man has been arrested after a hit-and-run crash that seriously injured a pedestrian Monday in northwest Miami-Dade County.

Miami-Dade police Detective Alvaro Zabaleta said the 54-year-old woman was crossing the street in the 4700 Northwest 32nd Avenue shortly after 7 p.m. when she was struck by a red Toyota Tundra.

Paramedics took the woman to Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami. Her condition was not disclosed.

The incident was captured on surveillance video from a nearby business.

Zabaleta said investigators were later able to locate the vehicle and identify the driver.
