BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office has given the all-clear after a suspicious package was delivered Thursday to a synagogue in Boca Raton, a security guard at the synagogue told Local 10 News.
Authorities confirmed the package arrived at the Boca Raton Synagogue at 7900 North Montoya Circle.
The synagogue is in a residential area just east of Florida's Turnpike, with houses and apartments located on either side of the building.
PBSO spokeswoman Therese Barbera said the agency's bomb and arson unit inspected the package to determine whether it was a threat.
Sky 10 was above the synagogue at 1:45 p.m. as a U.S. Postal Service truck was blocked off by police tape.
Local 10's Todd Tongen reported from the scene that there were only a few employees inside the building when the package arrived.
They were evacuated during the investigation as a precaution.
Authorities did not immediately disclose what was inside the package.
