Man shot multiple times while getting into car in Miami, police say

Victim listed in critical condition

MIAMI – A man was shot multiple times Thursday morning while getting into his car in Miami, authorities confirmed.

The shooting was reported outside a home at 2855 NW 22nd Ave.

Miami police Officer Kenia Fallat confirmed the victim is in his 30s.

According to authorities, bullets went through the windshield of the victim's car and he was struck twice. The man then ran inside a nearby apartment for help.

"Detectives don't even know if he was the intended target. There are a lot of things we are looking at right now," Fallat said.

A neighbor who said she knows the man's mother did not want to be identified, but said the victim was going to work when he was shot.

"Poor guy. I hope he makes it through," she said.

Evidence markers lined the pavement where the shooting occurred and police are checking for surveillance video in hopes of finding who fired the gun.

"Detectives are speaking with persons who heard the barrage of bullets, but there's a lot we still don't know," Fallat said.

The victim remains hospitalized in critical condition.

Anyone with further information about the shooting is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
