MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – There was a disgusting mess Thursday night at the Miami-Dade County Fair & Exposition's parking lot.
David Caceres had fun at the fair, but he later found his car was parked near the smelly flooded area.
"It sucks! Especially since, you know, you pay extra for parking and you get a grass full of crap," Caceres said.
The sewage did not affect people going inside the fair at Tamiami Park at 11201 SW 24th St., in the University Park neighborhood. It only affected those who were trying to get their vehicles out of the mess in the preferred parking area.
Eloise E. Rodriguez, a spokeswoman for the fair, said a water line was broken and Miami-Dade County Water and Sewer Department crews were making the repairs.
Miami-Dade police officers were also at the scene and reported on police scanner traffic that it was a sewage line. Authorities would not confirm at this time.
The Miami-Dade County Fair & Exposition's rides opened Thursday and will run through April 7. The fair, which also includes 100 food vendors, attracts an estimated 600,000 people every year.
