MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A 15-year-old boy was arrested Thursday after stealing an SUV that had a baby inside in northwest Miami-Dade County, authorities said.

Miami-Dade police said the victim, Angie Barrios, 34, parked her 207 black Infiniti SUV in the driveway of her home in the area of Northwest 183rd Street and 85th Avenue and walked to her front door.

Police said the teen then jumped into the driver's seat and drove away with Barrios' 10-month-old son still inside.

Police said the thief jumped out of the SUV and ran into a Home Depot that was a couple blocks away.

Police said they arrested the man in the store's garden section.

The baby was not injured during the incident and was reunited with his mother.

"I just recommend (to) all of the parents, if you go somewhere and you have a kid inside, remember to take it out," witness Elvis Perez said.

Police said a Nissan Altima was also involved in the incident and remains at large.

The teen faces charges of grand theft auto and kidnapping.
