PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. – A woman is clinging to life after she was involved in a crash Friday night in Pembroke Pines.
Pembroke Pines police closed both directions of University Drive between Pembroke Road and Pines Boulevard to investigate the crash involving a blue 2015 Chevrolet Equinox and a blue 2013 Ford Flex at Howard C. Forman Roadway.
Sgt. John Baker identified the driver of the Equinox as Rolanda Booker, 44, and the driver of the Ford as Shevon Smith-Alexis, 35.
Baker said Booker turned left from University Drive to go west on Howard C. Forman Roadway and "violated" Smith-Alexis' right of way when they crashed.
Both women were taken to Memorial Regional Hospital. Baker said Booker's injuries were life-threatening and Smith-Alexis suffered minor injuries.
