Man accused of drugging, sexually assaulting teen, posting naked video of her

Police say 15-year-old girl in critical condition

MIRAMAR, Fla. – An 18-year-old man is accused of drugging and sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl and then posting a naked video of her on Instagram.

Jorge Martinez, 18, of Atlantic Beach, faces charges of sexual assault, delivery of a controlled substance to a person under the age of 18 and obscene communication.

According to a Miramar police report, Martinez attended a party at the girl's home Monday and was seen giving her two Percocet pills.

Miramar police said Martinez then left the party with the teen and several others, traveling to a home on Southwest 42nd Street. There several witnesses told police they saw Martinez making sexual advances on the teen and offering to sell Percocet pills.

Police said the girl's friends later saw the explicit video of the naked teen on Instagram and went to the home to look for her.

In the video, Martinez discusses having sex with the victim, saying she is "perked out," in reference to the pills he gave her, authorities said. The video then cuts to the victim, who is naked and laying facedown on a couch and not moving, the arrest report stated.

"I see the Instagram Live of him toying with her almost lifeless body and that messed me up," Brandon Dasent, who was at the party, said.

Police said the victim's friends found her unconscious and drove her to Palmetto General Hospital in Hialeah. The girl was later airlifted to Nicklaus Children's Hospital in Miami, where she is in critical condition.

"She was without oxygen to her brain for about 28 minutes (and suffered) organ failure (and) internal bleeding," Detective Mark Moretti said Thursday morning during Martinez's first court appearance.

Moretti said by not calling 911, Martinez and the victim's friends made matters worse.

"The defendant and other associates could've taken her to a hospital much closer, minutes away," he said. "They chose to take her to a hospital an hour away in rush-hour traffic into Dade County."

Miramar police spokeswoman Tania Rues said Martinez went with the victim's friends to the hospital, where they got into an argument about the incident.

She said the friends and Martinez continued their dispute at the home where Martinez was eventually arrested and a fight ensued between the group.

Dasent said he was among the people at the party who struck Martinez.

"I'm glad that 1. I got to get a few licks in, and that he ended up in handcuffs and in the Broward County Jail," he said.

According to the report, Martinez initially told police he only kissed the girl, but he later admitted to being at the home where she was sexually assaulted and posting the naked video of her on Instagram.

Anyone who believes they may have been victimized by Martinez is asked to call Miramar police.
