Man beaten after asking attacker not to park in reserved space

Police search for attacker in May 25 beating at Shore View Hotel

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – A Hollywood man was "viciously" beaten by another man after he asked his attacker not to park his car in a reserved space, police said.

The attack occurred May 25 outside the Shore View Hotel.

Hollywood police on Friday released surveillance video of the beating.

The video shows a man in dreadlocks run toward Rudy Harow and punch him, knocking him to the ground.

"By the time I fell down, he just started to pummel me and I couldn't do anything but just try to protect myself," Harow told Local 10 News.

Harow, who turns 70 next month, runs the hotel. Harow said the man's car was illegally parked on hotel property, so he asked him to leave.

"By the time I fell down, he just started to pummel me," Rudy Harow said.

"He said, 'Well, I'm going to finish smoking this joint and then I'll leave,'" Harow recalled. "So when I saw that the guy wasn't really cooperating, I went back to get my cellphone."

The video shows Harow's attacker repeatedly punch him while he's on the ground before a woman intervenes and shoves him away.

Both the man and woman are seen leaving together.

Officer Christian Lata said the man had asked his attacker not to park in the reserved space.

Lata said the attacker could possibly be driving a red or burgundy Ford Mustang.

Anyone with information about the attack is asked to call Hollywood police or Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
