At least 2 wounded in shooting at District 3 nightclub

Witnesses say shooting stemmed from argument about stolen motorcycle

MIAMI – At least two people were shot outside a nightclub in Miami.

The shooting occurred early Thursday at District 3 on Northwest 25th Avenue.

"I was about to take a picture with Ball Greezy and Tommie Lee and chaos just broke out and everyone just went running everywhere, scattering," witness Deonta Elder said.

Elder said rapper Ball Greezy was recording a music video inside the club when he heard the sound of gunshots.

"The commotion, it was real and everybody was running and I was just trying to duck for cover, too," he said.

Elder said he went outside to find that his car had been hit multiple times by bullets. The bullets struck the hood of his car and shattered a window.

"It happened out here. I guess they were ducking and hiding behind my car," he said.

Police marked shell casings on the ground and were seen speaking to witnesses in the parking lot of the nightclub.

Two gunshot victims arrived at Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center a short time later.

A motive for the shooting was not immediately known, but witnesses told Local 10 News reporter Parker Branton it stemmed from an argument about a stolen motorcycle.

Police are investigating.

Anyone with additional information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
