Missing child alert for Coconut Creek 4-year-old canceled

Father returns boy who was reported missing on Saturday

COCONUT CREEK, Fla. – Authorities canceled a missing child alert issued Saturday after 4-year-old Tanner Swears vanished in Coconut Creek.  

According to the Coconut Creek Police Department, the boy had been with his father and he was back with his mother, who has custody of Tanner, on Sunday afternoon.

The boy's father, 55-year-old Stephen Swears dropped him off with a family friend, police said. 

"That friend brought Tanner home," police reported on Twitter. "The investigation is ongoing. The child was not harmed."
