Coast Guard rescues 4 from water after boat begins sinking off Miami Beach

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – The U.S. Coast Guard rescued four people Thursday in the water off Miami Beach after their boat began taking on water.

The Coast Guard received a call at 12:39 p.m. about a 15-foot pleasure boat that was taking on water in the vicinity of Card Sound.

Crews aboard two Coast Guard boats assisted in rescuing the victims, who were swimming the water near their boat.

Officials said all four boaters were wearing life jackets.

SeaTow Miami towed the boat and took the victims to Watson Island.

Officials said no one was injured.
