Jamaal Smith was arrested Thursday night in North Miami. He was wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of three people in Lakeland.

NORTH MIAMI, Fla. – A fugitive wanted in connection with a triple shooting in central Florida last month was arrested Thursday night in North Miami.

Jamaal Smith, 25, was taken into custody without incident about 11 p.m. at an apartment on Northeast Sixth Avenue, U.S. Marshals Service spokesman Barry Golden said.

Smith was wanted in connection with the Jan. 6 shooting deaths of three people in Lakeland.

According to the Polk County Sheriff's Office, Smith fatally shot the victims execution-style. Another victim who was shot in the face survived.

Golden said Smith was born in Broward County and had family and friends in South Florida.

Smith's girlfriend, Dorothy Collier, 23, and Tobias Mack, 24, were also arrested. Golden said they lived at the apartment where Smith was caught.

Two other men, Andrew Joseph, 35, and Jonathon Alcegaire, 27, who are alleged accomplices in the Lakeland shooting, were arrested in Miami last month.

Smith faces three counts of first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, armed burglary, conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit robbery and tampering with evidence.

He was booked into a Miami-Dade County jail and will be extradited back to Polk County.
