Police said Marcos Perez, 20, asked the victim for the time, and as soon as he looked away, began stabbing him.

The victim suffered stab wounds and cuts to his face, neck and hand.

Police said the victim also received several defensive wounds as he attempted to block multiple strikes to his neck.

According to the report, the victim did not know Perez and the attack was unprovoked.

The victim was taken to Kendall Regional Medical Center, where he is still recovering from his injuries.

Police said Perez was stopped in the same area the next day because he matched the description of the man who attacked the victim.

Police said Perez denied any involvement in the stabbing and said he was at home during the time of the incident. However, Perez's mother told police that her son was not home at that time and has a history of violence, the report said.

The victim also identified Perez in a photo lineup.

Perez was arrested on an attempted murder charge.
