Man shot in leg at Fort Lauderdale gas station during dispute for chain

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – A man was shot in the leg earlier this month in Fort Lauderdale during a dispute for his chain, authorities said. 

The shooting was reported about 11 a.m. Sept. 5 at a Citgo gas station at 6063 NW 31st Ave.

Police said two men approached the victim at a gas pump and demanded his chain.

The victim refused to hand over the necklace and a fight ensued.

Authorities said one of the robbers shot the victim in the leg.

The robbers fled the scene in a newer model, bronze Toyota Camry.

Anyone with information about their identities is asked to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS. A reward of up to $3,000 is offered for information that leads to an arrest.
