Thieves use stolen pickup truck to steal travel trailer in Oakland Park

Ford F-250 recovered in Homestead

OAKLAND PARK, Fla. – The Broward Sheriff's Office is searching for two men who they said stole a Ford F-250 in Oakland Park and then used the pickup truck to steal a travel trailer that was parked a block away.

The pickup truck was reported stolen Nov. 14 from the 4800 block of Northeast 11th Avenue.

Newly released surveillance video shows two thieves driving a newer-model white SUV past the blue 2003 Ford F-250.

Deputies said the thieves stole the truck, which had a Smith & Wesson M&P Bodyguard .380 pistol inside.

The men drove the truck a block away to 12th Avenue, hitched a 2016 Cherokee Grey Wolf travel trailer to the truck and drove away, deputies said.

Authorities said the trailer was filled with various items, including a golf cart, a Bass Pro Shop portable kitchen, multiple folding tables and a red portable ice machine.

The pickup truck was recovered in Homestead, but authorities have not found the gun or the trailer.

Anyone with information about the thieves is asked to call Detective Luis Silberberg at 954-202-3121. Anonymous tips can be made by calling Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS. A reward of up to $3,000 is offered for information that leads to an arrest.
