Rodent issue forces Aventura Mall restaurant closed again

AVENTURA, Fla. ā€“ State records show a rodent issue was discovered at the Mama Sbarros in the Aventura Mall last week. The restaurant is not located in the food court which is under construction.

Inspectors were at the Sbarros based on a complaint.

Rodent issues were also discovered at Sonic across from Hard Rock stadium and at Exquisite Catering by Robert.

Roach issues were discovered at Rob's Family BBQ in Davie, west of Pine Island Road and at Deerfield Beach Cafe.Ā 

Below are some of the violations.Ā 

All the places ordered shut were allowed to re-open following an ordered clean up and re-inspection.

"Employee touched face/hair and then engaged in food preparation, handled clean equipment or utensils, or touched unwrapped single-service items without washing hands. Server scratched chest then handled and filled pot of coffee without washing hands first. Hostess touched face then made shakes without washing hands first. Employees washed hands."

"Potentially hazardous (time/temperature control for safety) food cold held at greater than 41 degrees Fahrenheit. Spinach 49Ā° F, cheese American 61Ā° F, white cheese 60Ā° F, tomatoes 62Ā° F, salsa 61Ā° F, sausage 61Ā° F, chicken , ham 56Ā° F, chicken 60Ā° F, and liquid egg 48Ā° F at flip top cooler next to grill.
