Don't pour grease down the drain after Thanksgiving meal

MIAMI – Turkey and family get-togethers are nice, but there's an unfortunate Thanksgiving tradition that's literally draining a hole in taxpayers' pockets.

For as long as the holiday and indoor plumbing have existed, people have been making the wrong choice by pouring grease down the kitchen sink.

By doing so, the grease damages South Florida sewage systems with massive clogs in pipes, leaving the taxpayers to foot the bill.

So do yourself and your neighbors a favor and pour used grease, fats and oils in a can and throw the can away in the regular trash.

Simple as that.
