FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – A car crashed into a carpet store Sunday morning in Fort Lauderdale and then took off running, city police said.
The crash took place at Paul’s Carpet & Floor at the intersection of Northeast 13th Avenue and Seventh Street.
"I heard a big boom and I come out to the corner, and there were some people walking their dog and they said 'Oh my God, we were trying to help the guy get out the car; he got out the car and ran,'" Dwight Isaacs, a witness, said.
Isaacs said the car was lodged on its side between a lamp post and a building.
