Tourist wins $2 million playing Florida Lottery scratch-off game

SOUTH DAYTONA, Fla. – A 64-year-old woman visiting the Sunshine State from Georgia claimed a $2 million prize last week from the Florida Lottery.

According to lottery officials, on Thursday, Lavoncis Armstrong, of Riverdale, Georgia, chose to receive her winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $1,597,848.

Armstrong purchased her winning ticket from an A P Discount store, located at 2710 South Ridgewood Avenue in South Daytona.

Lottery officials said the business received a $4,000 bonus commission for selling the winning ticket.

“The $10 MONOPOLY DOUBLER Scratch-Off game features more than $176 million in cash prizes, including eight top prizes of $2 million!” the Florida Lottery said in a news release. “The game’s overall odds of winning are 1-in-3.51.”
