NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. – A Florida family woke up to an uninvited guest taking a dip in their swimming pool.
The homeowner said his dog starting barking at the backyard pool at around 2 a.m.
When the 10-foot-long gator refused to leave, the man called in reinforcements including New Smyrna Beach police and Florida Fish and Wildlife officers.
The gator was relocated to a safer environment for all.
No one know how the gator got into the pool, and he left no damage behind, except for the screen he pushed out to slip in.
