Deputies say Powell called 911 Wednesday, claiming a black male had attacked her. She even provided a physical and clothing description of the so-called suspect.

As a result of her claims, the Broward Sheriff's Office set up a perimeter in the area from Pine Island Road to Southwest 90 Avenue from Stirling Road to Southwest 53 Street.

A K-9 Unit was also called in, as well as the BSO Aviation Unit.

Deputies say Powell finally recanted her story after her boyfriend told police the incident was a fake call placed to get attention.

Both Powell and her boyfriend are facing charges.
