Hollywood issues boil-water order after water main break

Authorities: Water needs to be boiled for at least a minute

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – A Friday morning water main break prompted the City of Hollywood to  issue a boil-water order that remained in effect Saturday.

Mayor Josh Levy said sediment got into the water during the water main break at Johnson Street and 19th Avenue. A garbage truck got stuck in a sink hole during the flooding.

Authorities say water used for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, washing dishes, should be boiled for at least one minute.

The order applies for other residents in Broward who get their water bill from the City of Hollywood.
