HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – Lifeguards rescued at least three people on Hollywood beach, where red flags indicating rip currents were flying Monday.
A lifeguard spotted one man waving for help a few yards offshore near Michigan Street.

"I just swam and pointed to swim to that building. I didn't know about this," said the man, a tourist from Russia.
Lifeguards said they had told him to stay closer to shore earlier in the day.
None of the three rescued swimmers were seriously injured.
"Spring break, beaches are packed, little bit of alcohol from partying so we really have to keep an eye out and make sure everybody's safe," said Vince Canosa with Hollywood Fire Rescue.
Lifeguards spent the weekend telling swimmers what to do if they're caught in a rip current.
"You shouldn't panic, obviously," said Canosa. "Swim sideways, parallel to the shore, and the important thing is swim in a guarded area."
"You got to be careful out there for sure," said John Mofford. "[You] got to respect the water."
Red flags were also flying throughout the day in Fort Lauderdale and Miami Beach.
